Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos and Police Chief Terry Sult took the ceremonial first shots as the Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range formally opened Aug. 4.
The club promotes itself as a state-of-the-art, 16-lane indoor shooting range that will cater to law enforcement officers, sportsmen and novices.
The Sandy Springs police will use the range for training.
“Having the Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range as a resource will allow our officers to conduct firearm qualifications without leaving the city,” Sult said.
The club (www.sandyspringsshootingrange.com) is located at 8040 Roswell Road. Previously, the site housed a flooring company showroom.
