The Boutique BeatBy Danna Thompson

Local and celebrity designers, games, prizes, champagne receptions, massages, live DJs, fun cocktails…all celebrating Fashion’s Night Out 2010! With roots to the Big Apple and unprecedented global participation and support in 2009, Fashion’s Night Out will host its inaugural Atlanta affair on Sept. 10 from 6 to 11 p.m. with several luxe lines at Phipps Plaza, as well as many boutique favorites.

Fashion’s Night Out was created as a partnership with Vogue magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy and put the fun back in shopping. In the landmark New York City event alone, more than 800 participating stores across the five boroughs fêted thousands of shoppers who came out to support the fashion and retail industries—and this year’s event is expected to be even larger, attracting more attendees and participating retailers, featuring more exciting events and stimulating more local economies.

The perfect fit for Atlanta’s fresh and ever-evolving style landscape, Fashion’s Night Out is a yet another event taking advantage of the city’s reputation as a major fashion player. And Atlanta’s unique blend of uptown glitterati and down-home charm is sure to make its mark in this international one-night style soiree.

Around the world, countries led by at least fifteen international VOGUE editions will once again participate in the festivities. Each nation across the globe will tailor its Fashion’s Night Out celebration to appeal to its unique retail environment. Participating countries include Australia, Great Britain, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey.
