Convergent Frequencies – a site-specific multimedia installation featuring wheatpaste portraits by Matt Haffner, binaural field recordings by Nat Slaughter, and video projections by Matt Gilbert – will be presented by ArtBox this weekend, Sept. 17-19. The project is a collaboration of Possible Futures and the i45 galleries of Inman Park, Old 4th Ward and Little 5 Points.
These three Atlanta artists will reinvent the vacant lot at the corner of Krog Street and Irwin Avenue by installing three large shipping containers covered inside and out with art inspired by the surrounding neighborhoods.
The project takes place between 6 p.m. and midnight each day. Live musical performances occur at 9 p.m. each night. The work will be presented again Oct. 1 as an associated project at Flux Projects’ FLUX art night, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., in Castleberry Hill.
