March is Diabetes Restaurant Month, and several local eateries have taken up the challenge to to create diabetes-friendly menu items. Basketball legend Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, who has type 2 diabetes, will be sampling the dishes when he’s in Atlanta on March 16 as part of a campaign with Merck pharmaceuticals to promote diabetes awareness.
