Dunwoody police have identified two officers it says soon will be promoted to sergeant.

Officers William “Rusty” Furman and Fidel Espinoza were selected for promotion by Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan, the department said. Both will be assigned to uniformed patrol after an extensive field training program.

Furman, assigned to Dunwoody’s community outreach unit, helped start the city’s Police Explorer Unit and has been active with the Special Olympics, the department said in a press release.

Espinoza has been a field training officer since the Dunwoody department began. He organized the “Christmas for Kids” program for the past two years, the department said.
