The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Burglary

2700 block of Pinetree Road, NE – A burglary at an apartment occurred and was reported at this location on April 11. The suspect(s) entered the victim’s apartment and stole two flat screen televisions and a laptop computer.

4300 block of Chastain Walk, NE – A residential burglary occurred and was reported at this location on April 14. The victim came home to find dirt on the floor of her residence.  She noticed the skylight dome was missing and a piece of plywood over the hole.  There were workers on the roof doing repairs.

2800 block of Northside Drive, NW – A burglary at a high school occurred at this location and was reported on April 16. School detectives notified Zone 2 units that there were males inside the school taking computers. Before units arrived, the males left the building through a back door with approximately five computers. The window to the room containing the computers was shattered.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A residential burglary occurred at this location and was reported on April 16. The victim said he went out of town and left approximately $30,000 in cash in his top drawer at the location. The victim said when he returned, the money was not in the drawer. No signs of forced entry.

Assault

300 block of Pharr Road, NE – Aggravated assault occurred at a gas station at this location on April 15. The victim reported that the arrestee wanted to have a cigarette and have the victim buy him beer. The victim said he turned away from the suspect and that was when he was attacked. He suffered a possible broken nose and had his two front teeth knocked out. The victim refused EMS treatment. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail.

3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – Aggravated assault in a parking lot was reported at this location on April 16. The victim said there was a vehicle parked in one of his spaces. The victim said he parked close to the vehicle so the driver would have a difficult time getting in the car. The victim said when the subject came out she became irate and during the course of the dispute, the subject struck the victim’s vehicle, yelled profanities at him, and threw a liquid on him.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – Aggravated assault occurred at an apartment complex at this location and was reported on April 16. The victim had been beaten up by her boyfriend causing a torn lip, facial lacerations and pain in her ribs. The suspect had tied her up, thrown her in a tub and struck her multiple times.  The officer was unable to locate the suspect. The victim was transported to a hospital, and ID responded to photograph the victim’s injuries.

Larceny

2600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A business at this location reported a larceny on April 5.  The reporting person said to police that while conducting inventory he discovered two laptop computers missing from the business. There was surveillance footage from the location showing a male dressed in dark clothing entering the locked area where the computers were stored.  The video also shows the male suspect securing unknown objects into his trousers. The male is shown leaving the location on foot.

4200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny at an apartment was reported at this location on April 8. The victim responded to a job opening on craiglist.com and fell victim to a scam, losing $5,640.

2900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A specialty store reported a larceny at this location on April 9. The suspect entered the store and took one book and damaged another from the display. The suspect is male, 250 lbs., and approximately 5′ 5″.

2800 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny at an apartment complex at this location was reported on April 9. The victim left her wallet on a mantle while helping with a bake sale.  When the victim later looked in her wallet she discovered her social security card and immigration card were missing. 

1200 block of Collier Road, NW – A larceny in a parking lot at this location was reported on the evening of April 10. The victim left the business and entered her car where the suspect engaged her in conversation and snatched her purse from the front seat. The suspect dropped the purse as he was running away, but kept the wallet that contained cash, checks and other miscellaneous items.

500 block of Bishop Street, NE – A larceny from a road was reported at this location on April 10. A city of Atlanta employee reported that 2,000 feet of copper wiring was stolen from 10 light poles.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On April 11, a larceny was reported at a discount store at this location. APD responded to a theft by shoplifting call, and were met by store security who said that the arrested         persons were seen concealing items in a baby stroller and attempting to leave the store without paying for them. The items were returned back to the business.

3600 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported from this location on April 11.  The victim entered into an agreement with the suspect to purchase tickets to the Masters and U.S. Open golf tournaments. The victim paid $1400 in four installments to the suspect and never received the tickets.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny at a hotel was reported on the morning of April 11 at this location. The victim said his wallet had been stolen, and among the items missing included: a driver’s license, student ID, gas credit card, refund card, bank acct# card, AAA card, debit card, blood donor card, high school diploma card and $15.

500 block of Northside Circle, NW – A larceny from an apartment complex at this location was reported on April 12. Officers were met by the apartment property manager who said that her maintenance crew discovered a damaged air conditioning condenser with the copper wires stolen from the unit.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store at this location was reported on April 12.             Loss Prevention observed the accused intentionally fail to swipe an item at the self-checkout and pass all points of sale without paying for the item. The store associates advised the accused, who also had a previous criminal trespass warning.

300 block of Lakemoore Drive, NE – A larceny was reported at this location on April 14. The victim came to the Zone 2 precinct to report that the suspect had his money and did not give it back. The victim said he is a minister, and they went to a discount store with an overseas bank to access a missionary inheritance fund. The suspect had lived in the house where the victim lived. The suspect never gave the victim his funds even after the suspect was given 30 days to do so. The suspect moved out of the house within seven days of the theft. The victim would like to prosecute.

4200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny at a grocery store was reported on April 14 at this location. The victim said she left her purse in her shopping cart and saw the suspect reach into cart and walk off. The purse contained $50 and various credit cards.

1300 block of Barron Court, NW – A larceny was reported at an apartment complex on April 15 at this location. The victim said that he was doing the lawn at the address and put his equipment on the street by the front yard. When he came back, three pieces of his equipment were missing, including a yellow Homelike ledger trimmer, an orange Echo SMR-225 and a Redmax leaf blower 7-100.

Larceny from Vehicle

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported at this location on April 10. The window of a grey 2011 Dodge truck was left partially open while the victim went into a store. A backpack was taken containing a passport, keys, cell phone and two laptops.

2700 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto at a residence was reported on the morning of April 11. The reporting person said that her vehicle was parked in her driveway at home. Later she was pulled over on a traffic stop and was told that her vehicle was missing the tag. The reporting person said the last time she saw the tag on her vehicle was the previous night when she parked it at home.

2900 block of Habersham Way, NE – A larceny from an auto at this location was reported on April 15. The victim said two blowers and a chainsaw from the back of a Ford F150 were taken. The victim said he parked the vehicle on the street while he was working. A witness said that a black Ford Explorer with tinted windows pulled up next to the victim’s truck and an unknown male passenger wearing a light shirt took the items.

1500 block of Howell Road, NW – A larceny from an auto at this location was reported on April 15.  The victim said that she left her 1994 BMW at the location and an unidentified person had stripped the car: wheels, tires, fuel pump, seats, tag, radio, and other things she was not sure of.   ACIC confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Texas in Jan. 2010. The owner, the victim, said she had owned the car since 2008. The registration showed that the vehicle was purchased in July 2008 and registered to the victim. The car was released to the owner.

Auto Theft

3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A business reported an auto theft at this location on April 7.  The suspect failed to return a rental vehicle back to the place of business upon the due date.  The business has secured an arrest warrant for the suspect, and the vehicle was placed in the system as stolen.

1400 block of Peachtree Battle Avenue, NW – An auto theft from a residence at this location was reported on the morning of April 10. The victim said his 2001 tan Chevrolet Tahoe was parked in his driveway at his house.  He said he was at his house until midnight and did not hear his truck start. When he returned to his vehicle around 8 a.m. he noticed the vehicle missing. He said he has the keys to the vehicle and it has been paid for in full. The vehicle was placed in ACIC system as stolen.

3000 block of West Roxboro Road, NE – An auto theft from an apartment at this location was reported on April 15. The victim said his 2007 Infiniti M35 was stolen from the address. He said he stopped at the residence to check the mail. He pulled up to the mail box and exited his vehicle. When he walked back he could not find it.

10 block of Lakeland Drive, NE – An auto theft from a parking garage occurred at this location on April 16. The victim’s 1988 Chevy Silverado was taken with two .410 shotguns    inside.  The vehicle was later recovered at a checkpoint at I-20 and Langhorn Street with the perpetrator.
