Drivers can expect long delays during the weekend due to construction on Ga. 400 and I-285, the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts said July 15.

Three lanes of I-285 between Chamblee-Tucker Road and Ashford-Dunwoody Road and the on ramp to I-285 eastbound at exit 32 will be closed from 9 p.m. July 15 to 5 a.m. July 18 for slab rehabilitation and patching, the CID said in a press release.

One lane of Ga. 400 near Hammond Drive will be closed during the same dates and times so workers can install signs and a barrier wall, the release said.

Motorists also will experience delays during the weekend at various locations on I-20, I-75 and I-85 throughout Metro Atlanta, the CID said, based on information from state highway officials.

“The weather looks promising for a lot of work this weekend,” GDOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins said in a news release.  “All I can say to motorists is to plan ahead or plan for traffic delays.”
