The 12th annual Trees Atlanta Tree Sale is Saturday, Oct. 8, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters, 225 Chester Avenue in Reynoldstown. The sale will feature over 1,000 native and unusual trees and plants.

The focus will be selling the same species of trees that will be planted on the BeltLine, further connecting houses and neighborhoods to the 22-mile loop around the city. A few of these trees include dogwood, elms, baldcypress, crapemyrtles, yellow flowering magnolias, an American wisteria called ‘Amethyst Falls’, American hazelnut, dwarf tulip-poplar, 5 varieties of silverbells, and 19 varieties of oaks.

In addition to purchasing trees, visitors are invited to spend time at the Trees Atlanta Kendeda Center by enjoying the new festival component from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be features such as music by Smokey’s Farmhouse Band, beverages from Honest Tea, tree care demonstrations, speakers, a small petting zoo of sheep by Ewe-niversally Green, and much more, including opportunities to learn about the components of a LEED-certified building.

  1. It’s great to see Atlanta participating in eco-friendly activities! It’s great for Atlanta’s communities and also sets a good example for the rest of the world. There is actually an exhibition in Atlanta at the World of Coca-Cola starting October 17th that is working to set a good example for the world as well. It is connecting the latest renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions to industry professionals. The goal of Das Haus is to build a greener world through innovation in energy efficient technology. For more information visit, http://atlanta.dashaustour.com/
