The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Assault
3600 block of Roswell Road, NE – Aggravated assault at a business was reported on Sept. 23. The victim said two women came to the location where she worked, requesting a DNA test. The employee knew the two from school and said they both threw items that were on the counter at her, causing a scratch on her forehead and nose. They then left the location. The victim refused medical treatment.
Tenth block of Habersham Road, NW – Aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on Sept. 23. The victim’s ex-boyfriend went to her apartment and kicked in the door after she didn’t answer. The ex-boyfriend put his hand over the victim’s mouth and pulled her hair, holding her inside the apartment and refusing to allow the victim to leave. He refused to provide his name and was uncooperative during the investigation. The victim initially stated someone else had broken the door but nothing was missing; however once separated from the ex-boyfriend she said she was in fear for her safety and the ex-boyfriend had caused the damage.
400 block of Armour Drive, NE – Aggravated assault was reported at an apartment on Sept. 23. The victim said she had an argument with her boyfriend. During the argument the victim called the suspect’s mother a derogatory name. The suspect struck the victim in the head with a closed fist. The victim said the suspect began to kick the entrance door to the apartment causing damage to the frame. There were no visible marks on the victim.
2400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – Aggravated assault at a residence was reported on the evening of Sept. 24. The suspect struck the victim with a tree branch causing lacerations to his head. The victim was transported to Northside Hospital.
Burglary
600 block of Broadland Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Sept. 19. The victim said when she was coming out of her bathroom in the house, she noticed a large man wearing all black in her room. The victim said that $100 was missing from her room.
1100 block of Collier Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Sept. 23. The victim said she returned home to find her home in disarray. She said she left a rear window open to allow the
home to air out. That is where the suspects gained entry, removed items and exited the location through a rear door.
600 block of Garson Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Sept. 24. Unidentified suspects broke the window with a rock of an apartment belonging to the victim, stealing two backpacks and a HP Touch.
Robbery
3800 block of Roswell Road, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on Sept. 18. The victim said she was jogging north on Roswell Road and approached by the suspect, who asked to borrow her phone. The victim said she did not have a phone. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s iPhone and ran.
600 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported in the morning of Sept. 22. The victim said the suspect struck her in the head with a 40-ounce beer bottle and punched her in the stomach twice before taking her purse and $300. The suspect said she and her friend had just met the victim outside of the gas station when they went behind the business to drink beer.
1000 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A pedestrian robbery in the street was reported on Sept. 23. The victim said a lone man approached her, placed a gun in her rib cage and demanded her purse and briefcase. The suspect then took the items, fleeing on foot.
First block of Sheridan Drive, NE – A robbery was reported on Sept. 24. The victim said a man kicked her and took her phone. The man returned to the location and was arrested.
Larceny
2300 block of Parkland Drive, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported on Sept. 18. The victim said a man driving a taxi cab grabbed her keys at the location. She said the taxi took her to her apartment, and since she was intoxicated, she could not pay the taxi. He then grabbed the keys and left.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Sept. 18. The suspect walked into the store wearing a backpack. The suspect asked to try on a suit valued at $4,695. He went into the dressing room and tried on the suit. The suspect placed the suit inside his backpack and left the store.
2600 block of Church Street, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on Sept. 18. The victim said that an unidentified person took her basketball goal and the basketball in her front yard.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported at a business on Sept. 19. The suspect was arrested for shoplifting items totaling $46.93: a box of ouchless band-aids, a shirt and a T-shirt.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Sept. 19. Loss prevention said two women entered the location, selected six Polo shirts, concealed the items inside a purse and attempted to exit without paying. Both suspects were apprehended and taken into custody for theft by shoplifting. The items were damaged and could not be resold.
600 block of Garson Drive, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Sept. 19. About $970 in U.S. currency and $250 in Euros was taken from the bedroom of the victim.
1700 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny at a hotel was reported on the evening of Sept. 20. The victim said a woman stole a pair of shorts that contained his wallet. Several credit cards and $250 were inside the shorts. The victim also said he invited the woman to his room. The female subject asked for food, and the victim gave her $20.
1700 block of Peachtree Street, NE – A larceny at a bank was reported on Sept. 20. APD responded to a fake duplicate check call. The officer was told by the bank teller that the arrested person presented a fake check in the amount of $18,641.12 and attempted to withdraw $10,000 in the form of a cashier’s check and $8,000 in cash.
2000 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny from a gas station was reported on Sept. 22. An unidentified suspect entered the establishment, taking two cans of alcoholic beverages out of the freezer, placing one on the counter, and the other between his legs. The suspect exited without paying for the one alcoholic beverage.
1400 block of English Street, NW – A larceny from a business was reported on Sept. 22. The reporting person said they noticed that the water was not working at the location, and when he went to check the meter, he discovered that the water meter gauge had been removed. He was advised by the water department to make a police report on the incident.
700 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Sept. 23. The victim said his roommate stole his watch. The roommate said she had the watch, then she said that a guy named Tony took the watch.
70th block of Peachtree Memorial Drive, NW – A larceny at an apartment was reported on Sept. 24. The reporting officer responded to a domestic violence call. The victim was struck in the face by the suspect, who took the victim’s wallet containing her driver’s license and debit card.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a business was reported on Sept. 24. The
reporting person said that a battery charger was stolen from the parking lot. He said the item was chained to the parking lot light pole and the chain was cut.
Larceny from Vehicle
4600 block of Tall Pines Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto at a residence was reported on Sept. 20. The victim said she discovered her door ajar and trunk open when she went outside of her residence. She did not lock the doors to the vehicle, and a GPS and a case of water were taken.
2900 block of Westminster Circle, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on Sept. 22. The victim said she left her purse in the back cargo space of her SUV with the doors unlocked. The vehicle was later discovered with the driver’s side door and the rear hatch open. The victim’s purse was missing.
3200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a fire station was reported on Sept. 24. The victim said that an unknown person entered his Ford F150 without permission and caused significant damage to the inside of the vehicle. The rear view mirror was ripped off, the windshield cracked, the turn signal damaged, and the gear shift handle was broken. The truck was unlocked.
Auto Theft
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on the morning of Sept. 18. Two male suspects stole a green golf cart belonging to the Capital City Plaza. The reporting person did not have a make, model or serial number for the golf cart.
2300 block of Parkland Drive, NE – An auto theft was reported on Sept. 18. The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the green lot of Chastain Park. The victim is employed with Georgia Power Co. Work equipment was inside the vehicle.
