The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

400 block of Defoors Land, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on the morning of October 2. The couple, boyfriend and girlfriend, were arguing earlier in the night but it escalated into a physical confrontation. The female hit the male subject in the head with a cup. The male subject then began pushing the female around in the kitchen. Her head hit the cabinet. The male subject was charged with battery and transported to jail.

3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on October 7. Two victims, a man and woman, reported that they had been assaulted by the suspect.  One victim said he arrived at the location to collect papers that the suspect had for them. The suspect used to be their lawyer. Because they refused to leave the location, the suspect came out of the office with a firearm and pointed it at them so they could leave the premises.

Burglary

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on October 3. Video footage positioned from the upward escalator shows two unidentified suspects smashing the front glass door of Nordstrom’s Rack and gaining entry.  The suspects then exited, taking an approximate value of $2800.

1700 block of Liberty Parkway, NW – A residential burglary was reported on October 6. The victim said she returned home to find a rear window broken and items pulled from a downstairs closet. Upon search of the residence, the victim discovered laptops, a necklace, televisions, along with other items, were taken. A television was recovered near the rear of the residence fence area.

8100 block of Ivy Chase Way, NE – A residential burglary was reported on October 7. The victim arrived home and her apartment was ransacked. Several items were stolen: black flat screen TV, a laptop, pink iPod, a cellphone, gold box and other numerous items of jewelry worth $400.

Robbery

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on October 6. An unidentified suspect came out of a gold sedan, pointing a handgun at the victim and taking her purse containing $85, iPhone and Georgia license.  The suspect was accompanied by three other males.

3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery in the street was reported on October 6.  The victim said while she was walking to work the subjects approached her and asked for assistance in making a phone call. The victim said while she was making the phone call one of them snatched her cellphone away from her and fled the location.

2400 block of Parkland Drive, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on October 6. The victim said he was approached by a man who produced a silver pistol and demanded the victim’s watch, computer and phone. Once the suspect was in possession of the items, he fled on foot. The victim could not advise a direction of travel by the suspect.

Larceny

1700 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny at a business was reported on October 3. The victim said she noticed an unknown man walking around her office. The victim said she left her purse inside the office and returned to find money missing from the purse and the man gone. There is no video surveillance in the office.

2000 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny at a residence was reported on October 3. The two victims said items had been stolen. A couple was several months behind on their rent and was evicted. The man was not allowed to remove any equipment from the location and he did. All the kitchen equipment, including the countertop ovens had been removed. The damage and property loss was said to be $150,000 to replace everything.

300 block of Peachtree Hills Avenue, NE – A larceny at a business was reported on October 4. The reporting person said that a DVD player was stolen over the weekend. The DVD player was last seen in the audio room on the previous Friday. The door to the room was locked when the maintenance person entered the room. No force entry was discovered.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on October 4. A store security officer said the suspect was seen by surveillance cameras selecting three Polo shirts and ripping the sensors off the shirts. The suspect then placed the shirts inside a white plastic bag and left the store, passing all points of sale with the items.

4200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on October 5.  The victim said she left her purse in her shopping cart and turned to order from the deli for a few minutes. When she turned back around she discovered that her purse was gone. Security tape shows a male suspect taking the purse out of the shopping cart.

1000 block of Huff Road, NW – A larceny at an apartment was reported on October 5.The victim said his ex-roommate used a drill to damage a lock and enter the premises, taking items that belonged to him and the roommate. The victim said he was in a prior dispute with the roommate over the retrieval of items from the apartment. The suspect and other males were seen via video footage exiting the premises with clothes, TVs and other items in hand.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a food court was reported on October 5.The victim said she was sitting in the food court area at Lenox Mall when she looked away to talk to a man. When the victim turned back around, her wallet and phone were missing.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a bank was reported on October 6.  The bank manager phoned police to report a man at the ATM machine attempting to use several ATM cards to retrieve money after a customer returned to the bank to alert them. Upon approaching the subject, the suspect asked the bank manager with help obtaining a pin number. After being told to come inside the bank, the subject was then taken into custody after police arrival. A check of the suspect yielded several ATM cards not belonging to him.

2300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a business was reported on October 6.  The victim(s) were sitting outside at the Starbucks; cellphones were placed on the table. A man walked up to the table and took both phones, fleeing the location in a white Chevrolet pickup truck.

1900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on the morning of October 6. The victim said her purse/wallet was stolen while she was at the hospital seeking medical treatment. The victim believes her property was taken while she was being transferred by wheelchair to a hospital room.

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a discount store was reported on October 7. Two suspects entered the store, smashed a glass display, and stole several computers.  No arrests at the time of the report.

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – A larceny was reported on the evening of October 7. The arrested persons were in a rental vehicle. Inside the vehicle (inside the passenger compartment) were what appeared to be several fraudulent ATM cards, by which the suspects were getting money from the ATM. A large amount of U.S. currency was inside the vehicle and wallets of the suspects. The funds were being wired to the Ukraine. Approximately $9000 was sent via Western Union from Publix.

3600 block of Fairburn Place, NW – A larceny at a business was reported on October 7. Two men dressed in all black stole the victim’s A/C unit and rolled it down the hill on a dolly. The suspects damaged the rear deck railing, the A/C unit cage and the basement door.

Larceny from Vehicle 

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking lot was reported on October 1. The victim said someone broke into his vehicle. Among the items stolen: one pair competitive figure skates, one extra set of hyper skate wheels, one extra set of hyper skate bearings, one skate bag, jeans and a shirt.

4400 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a restaurant parking lot was reported on October 3. The victim said he returned to his car to find his pistol and crossbow missing. The victim did not have any serial numbers for the items taken. There were no signs of damage to the vehicle. He said he must have left the doors unlocked.

3000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on October 4. The victim said he parked his vehicle in a parking garage and upon his return he discovered that the center hubcaps for all four tires were missing.

3700 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on October 7.            The victim said her vehicle was parked in a parking lot while she was unloading property. The vehicle was unlocked at the time. When she looked out of her window from her apartment she saw the suspect inside of her vehicle. The suspect jumped out of the vehicle with a brown case belonging to the victim. The case contained about $1600 in jewelry.

Auto Theft

3000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on October 3. An officer was on routine patrol when he saw a driver traveling on a city street without a seatbelt. After conducting a traffic stop and confirming on ACIC, the vehicle was reported stolen out of South Carolina.

2100 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – An auto theft was reported on October 6. A witness said he saw two men enter into and subsequently steal his co-worker’s vehicle. The witness further said    he attempted to follow the vehicle but lost contact with it. There were parts of the window molding present on the scene.
