Sandy Springs and Dunwoody police plan to join federal drug enforcement officials and host prescription drug take-backs on Oct. 29. The programs allow residents to safely dispose of expired or unwanted prescription drugs.

Sandy Springs police will collect the drugs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at Sandy Springs Police Headquarters, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 301, the agency said in a press release. Last year, during a similar prescription drug collection, more than 80 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in, police reported.

Dunwoody police will hold its “Operation Pill Drop” from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Oct. 29 and will collect unwanted prescription drugs at Dunwoody Police Headquarters, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 100, the agency said in a press release.
