The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

3100 block of Roswell Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported at a business on the morning of Oct. 9. An officer responded to a dispute involving a weapon in the parking lot. The victim said that he had put a boot on the arrestee’s car. He said the arrestee pulled out a Taser and clicked it at him because he was mad about his car being booted. The man was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

2400 block of Parkland Drive, NE – An aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on Oct. 10. The victim said her boyfriend flew her in from New York and let her stay with him. He hit her because she did not give him the clicker to open the fitness room and because she did not want to have sex.

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 12. The victim said he had an agreement with an ex-girlfriend to meet at his home to pick up her belongings. He said once the two suspects arrived at the location an argument ensued. One suspect sprayed a fire extinguisher on the apartment door and used a sharp object to puncture the door. Before leaving the location, both suspects displayed knives and threatened to cut the victim. All of this took place in front of the victim’s minor child.

4100 block of Ivy Chase Way, NE – An assault was reported at an apartment on Oct. 14. The victim said that a friend had been assaulting him. He said the friend came to do his laundry while intoxicated and high on drugs, and become upset and starting choking the victim because he asked him to leave.

Burglary

2300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Oct. 10. An officer responding to an alarm found a man leaving with a tire. After arresting the suspect, the officer discovered the suspect had cut the lock from a side door.

1900 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Oct. 16. The reporting person said he discovered the front door was opened with a barstool.  Aprons, rags and white paint were thrown all over the place. The words “u dead” were written in white paint on the bar. Several items were stolen: three projectors, two subwoofers, one lighting system and a laptop. Other items were damaged: sofas, refrigerator, host stand, lamp, rental cooler and cash registers.

300 block of Broadland Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 18.  The victim said she had a key hidden under the flower pot. Someone used a key to gain entry. A flat-screen TV and a tool box were taken. The victim said that the TV didn’t work.  The intruder locked the door.

4400 block of Powers Ferry Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 28. The victim said that upon his return home from walking his dog he found the basement window had been broken and a silverware set was missing.

500 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on the morning of Oct. 28. The suspect kicked in the front door of the victim’s residence.  The victim was awakened by the alarm and got his shotgun.  The victim heard a voice from downstairs, and then saw the suspect coming up the stairs. He gave warning to get out, then fired a warning shot.  The suspect continued to move toward the victim who then fired and hit the man in the right leg.  Grady arrived on the scene and made transport to the hospital. The wounded man was arrested.

Robbery

2400 block of Camellia Lane, NE – A robbery in a field was reported on the evening of Oct. 15. Men were walking in the rear of their apartment building and were attacked and robbed by three other men. One man stole $50 and fled the scene on foot. They used a bottle to hit one of the victims in the head.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A robbery at a hotel was reported on Oct. 15. The victim said while he was waiting for the elevator, a man approached him and pointed a pistol at him and demanded items. The victim removed his watch, bracelet, necklace, iPhone and Gucci backpack containing $10,000 in cash. The guy took all the items and left. The incident was captured on tape.

1900 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A robbery at a restaurant was reported on Oct. 20. An unidentified suspect, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a blue and white bandana covering his face, entered the rear of the restaurant, making his way to the office, pointing a gun in the face of the first victim.  The suspect demanded for the safe to be opened, and to give him all the money, and to put her face on the floor. The suspect told three other employees to get down on the ground and lay face down.  The suspect left with approximately $2,100, one cellphone, and a wallet belonging to victim second victim.

Larceny

7000 block of Summit North Drive, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported on Oct. 10. The victim said her former tenants took her washer, dryer and stove from her rental units without authority. The theft was discovered after the victim went to the location to retrieve rent money from the suspects.

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – A larceny at a hotel was reported on Oct. 11. The victim said he returned to his hotel room to find his computer missing and the laptop bag open. After the victim checked with hotel management, the key log for the room revealed housekeepers were the only persons who entered and exited the room besides the victim. Management would not release the names of the housekeeping personnel pending an internal investigation.

3900 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny at a discount store was reported on Oct. 11.  The victim said that a person approached her with a shirt and asked her to read the label for him. The man left soon after.  When the victim went to pay for her items, she discovered that her wallet was missing from her purse. Her credit cards were used at Walgreens and a gas station located in Sandy Springs.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Oct. 12. The victim said a man entered and placed a hooded sweatshirt over his head. After walking around, the suspect left and walked to where the victim was sitting, took his iPhone off the table and fled the scene. The victim followed the suspect and confronted him about the theft of the phone. When the suspect told the victim he would shoot him, the victim returned to the scene of the theft.

3400 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny at a hotel was reported on Oct. 14. Employees of the Marriott said a suspicious man was seen inside the hotel near a meeting room. When the employees returned, they noticed a LCD projector was missing. Video footage shows the same man entering the room with what appears to be an empty bag and exiting with a full bag. The same man was seen back on the property later that afternoon. When approached and questioned concerning the theft, he fled on foot to the MARTA station. He was last seen boarding a train.

3400 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a hotel was reported on the evening of Oct. 14.  The victim said her purse had been stolen.  She was sitting in the bar lounge and put her purse on the ground and could not find it. Inside of the purse was $250, a debit card, one cellphone and her driver’s license.

2300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a spa was reported on Oct. 15.  A person who did not work at the spa was caught in the break room. The subject said he thought he was going into the restroom but got lost. This same subject took $75 from an employee’s purse and left the location. The subject was stopped outside of the business and she was able to get her money back.

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny at a specialty store was reported on Oct. 19. The victim said he made arrangements to meet a person named “Tim” and another, unnamed person at the Best Buy to purchase an iPad for $500. Once money exchanged hands, the two subjects never returned with the computer.

1400 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – A larceny at a school was reported on Oct. 19. Three laptops were stolen from the school. A laptop was found in a small trash can but the other two were never recovered.

3500 block of Woodhaven Road, NW – A larceny at a residence was reported on Oct. 19. An air conditioner unit was discovered in the bed of a truck. No one was with the truck. The truck also contained heavy duty copper wire. There was a box of copper that had a Georgia Power Co. ID tag.  Several other items found inside the vehicle, including a pawn shop receipt for lawn equipment, MP3 players, a GPS and compressors.

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a store was reported on Oct. 20. The reporting person said that the suspect tried on a coat valued at $5,210 and left the store without paying.  The incident was captured on security video.           

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment was reported on Oct. 20. The victim left the house for the airport. Upon her return and while on the patio talking, the victim noticed her dog was missing. The victim also said she looked around and her desktop computer with printer was missing. The victim said that her roommate stated he took the computer and the dog in revenge for his missing phone.

2400 block of Camellia Lane, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Oct. 24.  The reporting person said that when he arrived at work in the morning he discovered that three plant racks had been stolen from the back of the store.

500 block of West Wesley Road, NW – A larceny of a custom wedding band was reported from a residence on Oct. 24.

Larceny from Vehicle 

2700 block of Margaret Mitchell Drive, NW – A larceny from a vehicle was reported on Oct. 10.  The victim said things had been stolen from his 2005 Lexus 330, including a briefcase with a laptop and a CD case with 100 CDs. There was no forced entry into the vehicle.

2100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 16. The victim said she noticed that a box in her vehicle was open and that her shoes were missing. There was no forced entry to the vehicle and the owner is unsure if someone else has a key. The victim stated that the shoes were valued at $2,800.

1900 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 16. The victim said she is living out of her car and noticed her purse was no longer inside of her vehicle. She said her ex-husband has the only spare key and she thinks he took the purse.

Auto Theft

3300 block of Woodhaven Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on the morning of Oct. 13.  The victim said he parked his vehicle in front of his house, and upon his return, he discovered that his vehicle was missing from where he had parked it. The vehicle was left unlocked and a key to the vehicle was left inside under the driver’s side floor mat.
