The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Assault
1500 block of Northside Drive, NW – An aggravated assault at a business was reported on Nov. 17. The victim said the suspect came into his business to have a computer repaired. When the victim refused to fix the computer the suspect threw the computer hard drive at the victim, striking him on the right shoulder. The suspect then pushed him down and broke a large flower pot on his way out of the place of business. The suspect fled the location in a Ford Explorer.
2400 block of Adina Drive, NE – An aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on Nov. 20. The victim said the suspect grabbed her by the throat and tried to choke her. The victim had four visible scratches on the right side of her throat and declined EMS. The suspect said the two were boyfriend/girlfriend, but the victim declined any romantic involvement with the suspect. The victim had very limited English and a motive could not be determined. The suspect was arrested.
2400 block of Coronet Way, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 20. The victim said her boyfriend assaulted her by choking her and setting her hair on fire. The suspect was arrested and charged.
500 block of Northside Circle, NW – An aggravated assault was reported at a residence on Nov. 25. The victim said she got into an argument with her sister at which time her sister slammed the refrigerator door into the side of her head causing a cut above her right eye. She was treated and released.
2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported at a residence on Dec. 2. The victim was hit on the lip with a crowbar. The suspect was arrested while he was being held down by the victim. The victim refused treatment.
50th block of Andrews Drive, NW – An aggravated assault in the street was reported on Dec. 3. The suspect was arrested and charged with kidnapping, interfering with government property, hit and run, reckless driving, and other traffic offenses. The arrestee was intoxicated and drove a Grady EMS ambulance without authority with four passengers inside and also hit a walking pedestrian.
Robbery
300 block of Pharr Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery in the street was reported on Nov. 14. An unidentified male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask attacked the victim, rendering her unconscious and taking her personal possessions: iPad, iPhone, cash and debit card.
70th block of West Brookhaven Drive, NE – A robbery at a residence was reported on the morning of Nov. 19. The victim said that a man came to her house and punched her in the face and took $250, then fled the scene. She said the man is homeless, owed her some money and told her he was coming by to drop it off. He lives behind the Brookhaven MARTA station.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Nov. 25. The victim said he went to Kroger to use the restroom, then left and began walking northwest toward Piccadilly restaurant. The victim saw two men and he asked one man for a cigarette. The second man attacked him from behind, hitting him, and then pulled out a knife and cut him twice on the left wrist. They took his iPod and $80, then fled on foot. The victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
4500 block of Noble Creek Drive, NW – A robbery was reported on Nov. 30. The victim said two men came to his residence and robbed him. He said he jumped out of the window to go to his friend’s apartment. He said that the suspect told him to put his knees down, and the suspect put a gun to his head. The suspect took $300 along bank credit cards. A flat screen TV was found on the floor.
Burglary
1400 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 15. The suspect entered the apartment of the victim, stealing her birth certificate, Social Security card and some financial documents. The victim stated that the suspect is also tracking her movements.
1200 block of Mount Paran Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 15. The unidentified suspect(s) entered the residence by a basement window of the victim and took two flat screen 55″ TVs, digital waterproof cameras, a Coach handbag, clothing, jewelry, laptop, video camera and toilet seat.
1200 block of Menlo Drive, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 16. An employee was waiting outside and heard someone inside and saw the lights flicker. Once the manager arrived they went inside and discovered the exterior power boxes had been damaged. A person who was still inside then took off running. The power boxes’ electrical wires had been cut out. An officer searched the building and found no one inside.
900 block of Canterbury Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on the evening of Nov. 18. The victim said he left his apartment and later received a call from his neighbor saying his dog was loose and running around, so the victim returned to his apartment to find his front door slightly opened and locks damaged. Only his laptop was missing from the dining room table, with other electronics in plain view. The audible alarm did go off but it was not connected to the phone lines or a security company.
Larceny
3100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on the evening of Nov. 12. The victim said she was distracted by a group of individuals while inside the location. When she turned back around, her digital camera was missing. The victim said she has since found the item on craigslist.com for sale.
3000 block of East Shadowlawn Avenue, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on Nov. 13. The owner said that a man came to the club with a group of friends and they ran up a tab of $157. The man’s bill was $70 and his credit card was denied. He did not have anyone to help him pay for it. He attempted several times to leave the premises without paying and was stopped. He is under the age of 21 and he purchased alcoholic beverages. He was charged with theft of services and possession of alcohol under age 21.
1400 block of Fairmont Avenue, NW – A larceny from a business was reported on Nov. 14. The reporting person said that a few items were stolen from the company. Two large hydraulic cylinders that weighed 600 pounds were taken from the gate entrance, plus a shaft and three batteries were also stolen.
2900 block of Dale Drive, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Nov. 15. The victim hired a woman to pack her house so she could move. The victim saw the suspect wearing a hair pin that went missing the day she started the job so she confronted her, but the suspect would not give it back. The suspect apparently had been in contact with the victim’s ex-husband. When the victim found that out, she fired her and kicked her out.
3800 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Nov. 16. An employee in charge of dropping the deposits off for the business let another employee do it for her. The money went missing and the first employee started paying it back out of her check instead of telling her supervisor because she was afraid of getting fired. The suspected employee quit and the business could not advise on any information about the suspect.
2300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a store was reported on Nov. 16. A man entered Pep Boys and stole two subwoofers. The employees yelled for him to stop but the suspect ran off on foot.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Nov. 17. Three men were outside a locked door of a store asking the victim to let them in. When the victim walked past the sensor the door unlocked and the men got inside. One man sat next to the victim and suddenly snatched her purse. They left out of the same door.
900 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Nov. 20. The leasing officer manager evicted the current resident and went inside the apartment and found a flower pot thrown in the middle of the floor, trash covering the kitchen floor and a dryer taken from the condo.
2600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Nov. 29. The reporting party said that 10 pairs of sunglasses and frames had been removed from the store display. The amount of the items came to $3,500.
500 block of Northside Circle, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on Dec. 3. The reporting party said that he was coming home from work when he noticed three young men about 10 feet away carrying his mini bike. He then stepped out and identified himself as a retired sheriff and pulled out his weapon. The suspects dropped the bike and ran in different directions.
Larceny from Auto
1100 block of Moores Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking lot was reported on Nov. 18. The victim said she had her vehicle in the parking lot of the YMCA. She returned a short while later and found the lock on her vehicle’s door damaged and her purse missing. Items taken include a Rolex watch, a diamond bracelet, a diamond wedding rings, a tourmaline platinum diamond ring, and a tourmaline charm on leather choker.
2100 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking lot was reported on Nov. 19. The victim said she parked her vehicle in the parking lot behind the restaurant and when she returned she noticed several items out of place. She looked in the back of her SUV and saw her shopping bags were missing. They contained Gap jeans, two Christmas bracelets, a woman’s jacket and pants, men’s T-shirts, pajamas and an Apple iPod Touch. All the receipts were in the bags. The victim said she must have accidentally left her vehicle unlocked.
1100 block of Huff Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 22. The victim said he discovered a hole by his locking mechanism. Upon further investigation, he told the officer on the scene that money and clothing were missing from the trunk. During the officer’s investigation and subsequent search of the crime scene, the officer noted several inconsistencies in the victim’s story and items he attempted to report stolen were inside the cab of the car. The victim also changed his accounts of the theft.
Auto Theft
1200 block of Logan Circle, NW – An auto theft was reported on Nov. 28. The victim said the truck he rented was left parked near the building and when he returned, the truck was parked near the front of the parking lot. The victim said he called the rental company when his key would not work inside the truck and was advised the truck he tried his key in was reported stolen. The truck he had rented was stolen from where he had parked it.
