The Fine Arts Alliance at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) presents “A Heart for the Arts: Celebrating the Style of Giving” art and fashion show on Feb. 24 from 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Foundry at Puritan Mill. The event includes a runway fashion show, art and jewelry sale, and cocktail brunch catered by Carole Parks, one of Atlanta’s premier caterers.
The New-York-style fashion show is sponsored by Tootsies and Miller Brothers and features spring collections with local “celebrity models.” This year’s jewelry sponsor, Three Jewels, will provide pieces to be modeled, raffled and offered for individual sale. Works by some of the Southeast’s most celebrated artists will also displayed for sale, and the live auction will include two tickets to 2012 Fall Fashion Week in New York City to preview the designer Lela Rose’s 2013 spring collection. Two first-class tickets, valid on any of Delta’s daily flights between Atlanta and New York’s LaGuardia Airport, are in the Fall Fashion Week package. A significant portion of Heart for the Arts proceeds will benefit Holy Innocents’ Fine Arts Department.
This year’s special honoree is Jo Thacker, Lower School Visual Arts teacher and longtime Fine Arts Department faculty member who is retiring at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. “For 34 years, Jo has inspired so many young students, and we look forward to celebrating her contributions,” said event organizer and HIES parent Stacia Franke
