To begin the second week of testimony in the murder trial for Hemy Neuman, prosecutors showed the jury a video of Neuman’s first interview with Dunwoody Police, according to the ajc.com.
In the Jan. 4, 2011 interview, a shaky Neuman couldn’t remember who told him that Rusty Sneiderman had been shot, ajc.com reported. Detectives also asked him about his relationship with Andrea Sneiderman, the victim’s widow, the website said.
Police interviewed Neuman after records showed he rented a silver Kia Sedona similar to the vehicle witnesses saw the day Sneiderman was killed in front of a Dunwoody daycare center on Nov. 18, 2010.
Neuman has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murder of Sneiderman. With his plea, he acknowledges that he shot Sneiderman, but was mentally incapable of telling right from wrong at the time.
To date, the trial has centered on the relationship between Neuman and Andrea Sneiderman, who worked together at GE Energy. Attorneys from both the defense and prosecution have tried to prove that the two were having a romantic relationship. Andrea Sneiderman has denied that there was an affair.
