The defense for Hemy Neuman continued presenting its case March 1, calling on a forensic psychologist to speak about Neuman’s mental state.

Neuman, who is on trial for the 2010 murder of Dunwoody businessman Rusty Sneiderman, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The plea means he admits to killing Sneiderman but was mentally incapable of telling right from wrong at the time.

Adriana Flores, a forensic psychologist, testified that she evaluated Neuman and found he suffered from Bipolar 1 Disorder with psychosis, according to ajc.com.

Flores said Neuman saw an angel who told him he was the father of the Sneiderman’s two children. The children were in danger, Neuman believed, and he felt he needed to protect them from an abusive upbringing like he had, ajc.com reported.
