In a heated meeting March 4, members of the Dunwoody Homeowners Association criticized city staff for approving a land disturbance permit to allow dirt from nearby construction to be dumped on a Glaze Drive property.
City officials said zoning code allows anyone to apply to grade their property, so the permit was issued. However, the road is restricted to vehicles that weigh 18 tons or less, so dump trucks would be too big to travel the road.
But members of the homeowners group were angry that the city would issue a permit without letting nearby residents know.
“I really feel the city has an obligation to its residents when its going to be that disruptive to their lives,” said Geri Penn.
