Southface will host It CAN Happen Here: Solar Power Takes Off in Georgia on Friday, Dec. 7, 7:30 to 9 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 634 West Peachtree.

This event will talk about the potential of more solar power in the state, which currently has more than 20 megawatts of solar capacity installed. Recently, Georgia Power announced plans to buy an additional 210 megawatts over the next four years. Combined, this increased capacity could power over 25,000 homes. Georgia’s solar industry has set an ambitious goal of 1,000 megawatts. Southface will discuss Georgia Power’s proposal and what it will take to achieve the solar industry’s goal.
