The Governor’s Commission on Brookhaven has canceled its regular Thursday night meeting for Dec. 6.

“We will instead focus on completing the evaluation process such that we can make final recommendations to the council members and thus carry out the transition,” Chairman Ben Vinson said in an email.

Vinson said the commission plans to continue evaluating bids for city services.

Vinson said the commission will hold a special called meeting soon to adopt final recommendations and present them to the newly elected Brookhaven City Council.

The commission was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal as an interim governing authority to help set up the city of Brookhaven. It will be disbanded once the City Council is sworn in.
