Opponents of the planned concrete trail through Brook Run Park took their arguments to Dunwoody City Council on Dec. 10.

More than 60 people, many wearing red shirts or sweaters, filled the council chambers. Several who opposed the trail spoke against it during the council’s period for hearing public comments.

“I feel the city has not listened to the community,” resident Queenie Ross said. “We need a good and safe walking space… but to destroy hundreds of trees in the park … would go against everything the public has requested.”

Tony Delmichi predicted the 12-foot-wide concrete path the city plans to build through the park would “turn into a driveway.”

And former City Councilman Danny Ross said the flap over the trail was embarrassing the city. “We’re getting a lot of negative press,” he said.
