The Buckhead Coalition has something a little different planned for its exclusive, invitation-only annual luncheon in January.

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy will be the featured speaker, the group says.

Foxworthy is known for his homespun humor that helps people diagnose whether or not they are rednecks. The Coalition is known for its well-heeled membership and civic-mindedness.

“This nationally renowned standup comedian is ‘in the $100,000 price range which we couldn’t justify,’” the Coalition said in a press release, quoting President Sam Massell.

“Massell felt it was necessary to notify possible guests in advance, to re-emphasize that invitations are non-transferrable – and hard to come by being it is believed to be the only group in Atlanta that doesn’t sell tickets to its annual meeting,” the press release says.

“Those who will be receiving the letters are local elected officials, heads of other civic organizations, media management, and Coalition members, (all of whom are CEOs or equivalent of major area firms).”

Attendees will also receive copies of the 2013 Buckhead Guidebook.
