The annual holiday anti-drunken-driving campaign called Operation Zero Tolerance returns Dec. 14 and will last through New Year’s Day, Sandy Springs police recently announced.

During the period, drivers found to be impaired by alcohol will be arrested, police said. Sandy Springs police said this year’s campaign has taken on greater urgency because the state, for the first time in six years, is on track to pass the number of fatalities recorded last year.
