North Springs Charter High School will host a showcase for lasers and other high-tech devices through the third annual event centered on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The event, sponsored by the Sandy Springs Education Force in partnership with the Georgia Tech Research Institute, will be held at North Springs on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a viewing of technology exhibits. The program begins at 6 p.m.

Dr. Marlene MacLeish of the Morehouse School of Medicine will be honored for her work in Sandy Springs’ schools and neurosurgeon Tommy Thomas of Emory Hospital is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech, North Springs said in a press release.

“What excites me about this event is seeing students’ eye light up when they interact with the exhibits and become aware of the opportunities in STEM, particularly this year in health science and technology. We want them, and the community, to say, Wow!” said foundation board member Lorie Lewis, who is chairing the event.

Attendance at the event is free, but seating is limited, the school said in a press release. For more information or to register: www.SandySpringsEducationForce.org
