The Atlanta School Board announced it has appointed a 13-member advisory team to help it find its next superintendent. The group will set up a timeline for the search, identify candidates for the board to screen, and help present the final candidates to the community, the school district said in a press release.

Appointed to the advisory team were:

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed or his designee; Abby Martin, representing parent organizations; Verdalia Turner, representing teachers groups; Melissa Hodge-Penn representing the Atlanta Council of PTAs; Cynthia Kuhlman, Ernest Greer, Beverly Tatum and Ann Cramer, representing the board; SunTrust Bank CEO William Rogers; school board members Emmett Johnson, Cecily Harsch-Kinane and Courtney English; and a student from one of the district’s high schools.
