Mayor Eva Galambos is recuperating after an unspecified abdominal surgery, according to an announcement from the city of Sandy Springs.

Galambos has been unreachable since the announcement April 22 that she would not seek a third term as mayor. She has endorsed former City Councilman Rusty Paul as her successor.

SANDY SPRINGS (April 30, 2013) – Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos will take a brief absence from her duties as mayor while she recuperates from abdominal surgery. The surgery was performed last week, and doctors expect a full recovery.

Mayor Galambos is expected to take the next several weeks to rest and recuperate.  Tibby DeJulio, mayor pro-tem, will briefly take on the Mayor’s responsibilities.
