The mother of an autistic girl who alleges she was raped in a North Atlanta High bathroom told Fox 5 Atlanta the school didn’t do enough to protect her daughter.
North Atlanta High officials defended their handling of the case in a letter to parents that went out on May 20. The girl reported the incident to school officials on May 9 and said it had happened May 8. Atlanta Police began their investigation on May 9 and have not arrested the male accused of the crime.

Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Stephen Alford first became aware of the incident after he was contacted by Reporter Newspapers. Reporter Newspapers became aware of it after a staffer noticed the item in police reports that are routinely distributed to neighborhood groups and the media.
