The Georgia Chamber of Commerce has named state Rep. Ed Lindsey, R-Atlanta, as the recipient of the Legislator of the Year award.

The Chamber also named state Sen. Hunter Hill, R-Atlanta, as Freshman of the Year.

Both lawmakers represent portions of Buckhead and Sandy Springs.

A press release from the Chamber says that Lindsey received the honor for his work on two bills that bolster Georgia’s right-to-work laws.

Right-to-work laws curb the influence of labor unions within the work place.

Hill was also recognized for his support of right-to-work laws and for sponsoring bills to make the professional licensing process easier for veterans who have held comparable jobs while serving in the military.
