The Wylde Center in Decatur’s Oakhurst neighborhood is offering summer classes with a focus on edible gardening practices, drought resistant plants, and water saving techniques.
Upcoming classes include building your own rain barrel on July 17 and techniques on how to grow your best, edible summer garden on July 30, l
Other offerings this summer include classes with Kurt Straudt of South East Succulents, who will teach you how to make beautiful arrangements in wooden frames, dishes and even a vertical garden.
Another new series called Simply Delicious will focus on local, fresh produce chefs Jennifer Weissman, Jerilynn Bedingfield, and Charli Vogt (pictured) who are all active Atlanta foodies. A free kickoff cookoff event and open house will be held Aug. 20 at the Decatur Recreation Center with demonstrations and tastings.
