Decatur isn’t the only community dealing with a spate of armed robberies. The Midtown Ponce Security Alliance has posted an alert about a string of crimes that have occurred from July 6 to July 9, possibly committed by the same two suspects.

On July 6 after 2 a.m., two victims were robbed at gunpoint at Myrtle and 6th while returning to their car from the local nightclubs. The victims were approached by two African American males, one brandishing a silver handgun. The suspects made off with with wallets and cell phones. A similar crime was committed on on July 8 around 2 a.m. when two victims were approached near Juniper and 7th by two suspects, one with a silver gun.

Only July 9 after 3 a.m. a pedestrian was robbed walking on 6th between Juniper and Piedmont by two suspects who took a wallet, car keys and cell phone.  That same evening at about the same time, an injured male flagged down neighborhood watch to report having been robbed. This individual had been robbed at Juniper and 5th. It is believed that the same two black males robbed him, and then ran to rob the previously mentioned victim on 6th Street. This victim was transported to the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Atlanta Police Department at their tip line, (404) 577-TIPS.
