NNO2013The Atlanta Police Department has partnered with several local agencies to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6. National Night Out is organized by the National Association of Town Watch and encourages communities to partner with local law enforcement to increase crime prevention awareness.

All Atlanta National Night Out activities are free, family-friendly and promote community pride and safety. This year’s theme is “The More We Get Together, The Safer We’ll Be.” One of the biggest Night Out events will be in Midtown on 6th Street between Argonne and Glendale from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with food from Zaxby’s and Mary Mac’s, children’s activities, live music from the Greene Brothers and an opportunity to meet the Midtown Ponce Security Patrol, Atlanta Police Officers and Firefighters.

This year is the 30th anniversary of National Night Out with over 34 million people across the country expected to participate. For more information about National Night Out, the largest annual crime and drug prevention event, visit nationalnightout.org or call 1-800-NITE OUT.
