The country’s third Walmart on Campus will open Aug. 14 at 8 a.m. on the Georgia Tech campus. The new store, located at 86 Fifth St. NW, will be open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is part of a pilot program designed to provide Georgia Tech students and faculty, as well as the surrounding neighborhood, more convenient access to basic necessities, according to a press release from the company. The first Walmart on Campus opened at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in January 2011, and the second at Arizona State University in May 2013.

The new Walmart on Campus store is one of three Walmart stores opening in the Atlanta area on Aug. 14 bringing a total of approximately 300 jobs to the Atlanta area. Other new locations include a Walmart Neighborhood Market at 5025 Winters Chapel Road in Peachtree Corners and a Supercenter at 4975 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross.

The Walmart on Campus format will offer health and wellness services, general convenience items and merchandise tailored to the campus. The store already has a Facebook page at this link.
