Mount Vernon Baptist Church has asked for $15.5 million to sell its property to make way for the Falcons stadium at the preferred “south site” in Downtown Atlanta, according to Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed at a press conference this afternoon. Reed said the new offer would have to be approved by the Georgia World Congress Center.

Mount Vernon rejected a $6.2 million offer after nearby Friendship Baptist Church reached a deal for $19.5 million.

More as it develops.
