The Atlanta Police Department are warning Falcons fans to not leave valuables in their car when parking near the Georgia Dome and to adhere to the NFL’s new rules about what can be carried into the stadium.

“All too often, we see motorists leaving valuables in their cars, only to be preyed upon by criminals looking for an easy score,” said Atlanta Police Chief George Turner. “Save yourself a major hassle, and help us cut down on these crimes by adhering to our Clean Car Campaign. Never leave anything of value in your unattended car.”
Police routinely respond to incidents of stolen laptops. GPS units, firearms, purses and even loose change can attract criminals. Always be mindful of your surroundings when exiting your vehicle. It is not uncommon for thieves to watch motorists to see where they are hiding valuables when exiting
“We’re concerned fans might not be aware of these new policies and return to their cars with valuables that they were prohibited from taking into the Dome,” said Zone 5 Major Wayne Whitmire. “We hope fans can get acquainted with these policies so they can leave these valuables at home.”

The Decatur Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the person depicted in this sketch regarding an entering auto that turned into an armed robbery when the victim confronted the suspect in her vehicle. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Harold Byrd Drive on July 11 at approximately 11:15 pm. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40 years of age, with black spiked hair, slender build, clean shaven and who appeared to be a “drug addict.” Anyone familiar with this suspect is asked to please contact Inv.
