Southern Airways first to offer passenger service at PDK

Southern Airways formally announced today via a press release that it will begin regularly scheduled flights to six regional cities from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. Flights will begin Sept. 9 offering nonstop service to Destin, Panama City Beach, Memphis, Birmingham and Oxford, Miss. There will also be a one-stop service (via Birmingham) to New Orlean’s Lakefront Airport.

For those tired of the hassle of check-in and long security lines at Hartsfield-Jackson, PDK might be a good alternative. Check-in time is only 20 minutes before each flight and there are no baggage fees, parking fees or handsy TSA screeners. Plane-side rental car pick-up will also be available.
