Carlos Campos, the Atlanta Police Department’s Public Affairs Manager, has been named interim Director of the Mayor’s Office of Communication. He’s filling in for Sonji Jacobs, who has accepted a position in the private sector and is serving her final two weeks.
After an extensive screening process of more than 250 applicants, the City of Decatur has hired its first ever Public Information Officer, Casie Yoder. Her first day on the job was Sept. 9.
Washington, D.C. based since 2008, Yoder’s professional experience includes the Making Change at Walmart campaign of the United Food and Commercial Workers, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and the AFLCIO in Wisconsin. Most recently, she was employed by the Semester in Washington Politics program at George Washington University, of which she is an alumna. Raised in Atlanta, Yoder lived in the City of Decatur while earning a B.A. in journalism from Georgia State University.
