Police arrested U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Atlanta, on Tuesday during a rally in Washington D.C., according McClatchy DC.
This marks Lewis’ 45th arrest, McClatchy reported. Rep. Lewis’ office announced the arrest via press release. Lewis is known for his work during the Civil Rights movement, which accounts for the bulk of his arrest record.
He was arrested at a Camino Americano rally on the National Mall, McClatchy reported. The rally was in support of an immigration reform bill.
