Atlanta Streetcar UpdatedAtlanta City Councilmember Kwanza Hall will host the next Atlanta Streetcar Social on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Building and Auditorium, 250 Auburn Avenue NE. Interested residents can get and update on the progress of the streetcar and mix and mingle with residents and business owners along the route.

“I am delighted to sponsor the October Streetcar Social,” said Hall, whose council district includes all of the 2.7 mile light rail route. Hall is partnering with Chef Sonya Jones of Auburn Avenue’s Sweet Auburn Bread Company to cater this month’s social.

The Atlanta Streetcar will be operational by the second quarter of 2014. The route from Centennial Olympic Park to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Site will run seven days a week. There are future plans for the streetcar to connect with District 2’s Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine.
