Scouts from Troop 477 at Kingswood United Methodist Church will turn the Donaldson-Bannister farm into a Halloween “haunted house” for young children from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
More than 30 scouts are involved in the project, which will offer games, face painting, pumpkin decorating, concessions and a tour that will reveal the “ghosts” of the farmhouse, the troop said in a press release. The house is located at the intersection of Vermack and Chamblee-Dunwoody roads. The troop said it intends the event to serve as a fundraiser for Boy Scout camp scholarships and other things.
“We’re trying it this year and if it goes well, we’ll may be try it again,” Assistant Scoutmaster Barry Deutsch said.
The event is designed to entertain elementary school-aged and younger children, Deutsch said. Admission is free . The “haunted” tour costs $3 a person or $10 a family and there will be charges for concessions, he said.
