Mom’s on a Mission is a group of cool mothers who put their money and time where their mouths are. The group will hold the first of an ongoing series of fundraisers called Potluck for Peace on Nov. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at First Existentialist Church, 470 Candler Park Drive.

Their idea is to bring people together to eat, hang out, sell local crafts and help others. The community potluck event seeks to raise money to build The Emma Academy, a school and library in Leer, Africa. Local author and columnist Hollis Gillespie is one of the moms so you know it’s gonna be fun.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at potluckforpeace.com.
