Eight years ago, Sandy Springs became a city.

City officials will mark the city’s eighth birthday this Sunday, Dec. 8. The event will be held at Heritage Sandy Springs, 6110 Bluestone Road.

“The City of Sandy Springs invites the community to an open house, celebrating the city’s eighth birthday and honoring the leadership of Mayor Eva Galambos,” the announcement from the city says. “The event is free and open to all.”

The event begins at 2 p.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. There will be a “special presentation” at 2:30 p.m. RSVPs are not required but appreciated. If you’d like to RSVP, email communications@sandyspringsga.gov

The city also included this note about parking:

“Parking is available at the former Target Center on Johnson Ferry Road and Sandy Springs Circle.   A shuttle will be available to transport guests to Heritage.”
