If the weather doesn’t send Legislators scurrying for cover, a House Representative from Macon is expected to introduce a medical marijuana bill today under the Gold Dome.

Rep. Allen Peake, a Republican, has been shoring up support for the bill, which would allow patients with various disorders to get prescriptions for medical marijuana from their doctor. On Monday, the Georgia Medical Association said it was in favor of the bill.

Twenty states and Washington D.C. have all legalized medical marijuana, while Colorado and Washington state have legalized recreational pot, too. The state of Florida is also considering a bill for medicinal pot.
