Weather permitting, The Tabernacle will resume its concert schedule on Friday, according to a post on the Downtown concert hall’s Facebook page. The post says: “City officials have inspected the venue and determined there was no structural failure of the floor system. Our subsequent investigation of the building shows areas that require additional attention to insure the ongoing integrity of the building for many years to come.” The sold out Trey Anastasio Band show is Feb. 14 and Lauryn Hill has been moved to Feb. 17 because of winter storm.
Decatur Police are investigating reports of seven vehicles entered overnight Sunday on the Garland Avenue, McClean Street and Brower Street. On Feb. 10 at approximately 7 a.m., a resident on a morning walk located a wallet in the roadway and observed several car doors ajar and called police. Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located seven vehicles that appeared to have been entered. All but one of the vehicles were parked in driveways. All of the vehicles were unsecured. A GPS unit and the recovered wallet were the only things stolen.
Southeast Mortgage and it’s “Cal-Culator,” a real estate index, say that Atlanta’s foreclosure level is the lowest it’s been in a decade. The Atlanta Board of Realtors reported in January that Atlanta foreclosure notices were down 56 percent from a year prior and the lowest since June 2003. Low foreclosure levels combined with historically low inventory increased new home construction by 38 percent in 2013 in Atlanta.
