During an Arbor Day ceremony Feb. 21, Sandy Springs city officials planted a tree at Morgan Falls Overlook Park in memory of David Evans, who died in December.

City officials called Evans one of the early champions of the city.  He served as president of the Chamber of
Commerce, was instrumental in starting Sandy Springs Revitalization and the Sandy Springs Business Association, helped create the Sandy Springs Civic Roundtable and served as president of the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs, the city said in a press release.
