Buckhead Police Blotter, Reports dated Jan. 19 through Feb. 8.

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1st block of Collier Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Feb. 1. A woman said she has a court agreement with her child’s father that specifies how and when custody is exchanged for visits.  She has been unable to contact the child’s father during the visit, which made her nervous.  She also said that the weekend prior, she noticed visible bruises on her child’s rear from being spanked with a metal

ruler by his father during a weekend visit.

Robbery

1900 block of Piedmont Road, NE –A pedestrian robbery was reported on Jan. 20. A homeless man who cleans the parking lot of the club was escorting two women to their car from Room Service Lounge when they were confronted by two men in a gray Toyota Camry. They pointed a gun at the man and demanded his property.  He gave the suspects $125, and then the suspects demanded the women’s property.  The man attempted to stop the suspects, when he was shot in the stomach.  The women fled the parking lot and advised security at the club of the incident, and the suspects fled in their vehicle.  The man was transported to Grady Hospital, where doctors could not find an entry wound at the time of the report.  There was broken glass and miscellaneous trash in the area where the victim was shot.

1000 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Jan. 25. A woman said a man pointed a silver revolver at her, after she finished a transaction at the Wells Fargo ATM, telling her to give him the money.  She did not have any money, since she just deposited a check.  The suspect fled the scene without getting anything from her.

1400 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – A robbery at a residence was reported on Jan. 31. A man and woman said that their place of residence was broken into. The man heard a loud bang, and saw three men, with covered faces, with pistols, who pointed them at his face. One of the men held a gun to his head while the other two men made the woman show them the items. They took two iPads, one iPhone, four watches, one TV, one cellphone and two credit cards.

1st block of Lakeshore Drive, NE – A commercial robbery was reported on Feb. 5. A man physically assaulted a woman employee of a massage parlor.  He took money and left the location.  The victim was transported to the hospital with severe bruising and lacerations to the head.

Burglary

3600 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 18.  A woman noticed six pairs of jeans and some bread pudding were missing, and believed her ex-boyfriend made a copy of her key and took her items.

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Jan. 21. A woman noticed a man mopping the vending area when she entered her hotel room, and she put two suitcases and a duffle bag inside the room.  She left to move her vehicle, and when she returned, the man was inside her room. He held up a screw driver and said he was there to fix the door, but she noticed her suitcases and purse were opened and rummaged through.  The man initially refused to leave, but left when she called the front desk.  The man went to the vending area and took the elevator down.  The victim noticed change was missing from her purse and, found a large amount of change behind a plant in the vending area.  An engineering employee at the hotel checked the man’s key log and it showed he entered the victim’s room twice without authorization.  The man was arrested on-scene and charged with burglary.

400 block of Northside Circle, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 25. A man was lying in bed and felt the glass window break above his head. An unknown suspect attempted to make entry into the residence. After several unsuccessful attempts, the suspect fled the scene.

900 block of Peachtree Battle Circle, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 28.  A woman’s basement gate was found open, and the door had pry marks from where someone tried to force entry.

A neighbor said she noticed a charcoal Chevy 4-door sedan stationed by the driveway of her home, then, saw it pull into the woman’s driveway and park as though watching the home.  When the neighbor looked again, the vehicle had pulled around the round-a-bout of her driveway, and she heard the door bell chime.  When she looked through the peephole, she saw the car pull out of the driveway and speed off.  The same vehicle was noticed sitting across the street, watching the house approximately 15-20 minutes later.  The victim noticed the damage when she arrived home later in the day.

700 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Feb. 2.  A man left home, and had received multiple texts from his roommate who had been gone since the previous week, throughout the day asking if he was home yet. When he arrived home he found his DVD player, TV, clothes and safe with $4,000, were missing.

2100 block of Willow Avenue, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Feb. 5. A man said his residence had been broken into and entry made through a kicked door. He said several items were stolen: three televisions, one laptop, one iPod, $ 10,000 in jewelry, a social security card, passport, $50 in cash and prescription drugs. No surveillance camera or any witness at the location.

Larceny

1100 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A larceny was reported on Jan. 21.  Three men entered the gas station.  They jumped over the counter and took 30 cartons of cigarettes and the clerk’s purse. They fled on foot.

700 block of Lakeshore Circle, NE – A larceny was reported on Jan. 22.  A man said his bag was picked up by a homeless man. The victim said he was sitting waiting for the Triangle Club to open when the homeless man came by, picked up his bag, and left.

1st block of Old Ivy Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Jan. 26.  An unidentified woman (possible man dressed as a woman), was in the restroom when the victim’s purse was stolen. No one witnessed the incident.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on Jan. 27. Two men entered the store and pretended to look at purses.  One suspect grabbed a red Thomas Wylde purse valued at $2,350, and both suspects fled the scene.  A female employee chased the suspects through the mall and into the parking deck until she encountered a security guard and informed him of the incident.

1st block of Irby Avenue, NW – A larceny was reported on Jan. 31.  A man said he could not locate his wallet and iPhone, and could not clearly remember the events of five days prior.  He said he was at a bar and was also inside a vehicle with two unknown women.  He tried walking home and was picked up by an officer for walking on I-75N, then, was picked up later by his mother. He said there were unauthorized charges on his credit and debit cards.

3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Jan. 31.  A woman said she left her Canon camera in her office that’s shared with several employees while she went out of the country.  Two weeks after returning from her trip, the camera was noticed missing.  There was no damage to the office doors and no cameras at the location.

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Feb. 1.  The arrestee placed 10 Tide pods in Folgers containers and passed all point of sale at the Kroger grocery store.

1st block of E. Andrews Drive, NW – A larceny was reported on Feb. 6.  An unknown suspect forced open the ATM at the location and stole $5,000.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Feb. 7. A man went into the store and took some items and passed all point of sale. He was aggressive and tried to fight the officers and security. He was Tased on the lower back area and two contacts were made into the jacket. He was arrested and transported to city jail.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Feb. 8.  A man said a woman and man came into the toy store and took 13 Nintendo DS systems and 37 PlayStation 4s, totaling $4,820. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

Larceny from Auto

3000 block of Saint Annes Lane, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Jan. 28.                  A woman said that her 2005 Mercedes M35 was broken into and items were stolen : one Gucci purse, one Gucci wallet, iPhone, $80 in cash, one checkbook, two debit cards, three credit cards, GA driver’s license and house keys. The phone was tracked to Zone 1.

2900 block of Pharr Court South, NW – A larceny from auto was reported on Jan. 31. Four chrome rims and tires were taken off a vehicle found sitting on a tire that did not belong to it, as well as a jack and two pieces of wood.  The main gate was left open overnight because it was recently damaged.  Cameras are possibly located at the entrance/exit to the parking deck.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Feb. 2. The window was broken.  A laptop, tablet, laser measuring tool, flashlight, money and sunglasses were taken.  A screwdriver was recovered from inside of the vehicle.

3200 block of Cain’s Hill Place, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported Feb. 5.  An unknown suspect entered a woman’s unlocked and running vehicle, and stole her purse and iPhone from the vehicle.  She had left her vehicle unsecured and running while she picked up her dog.

1500 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Feb. 7.  Two men were seen removing 30 lbs. of shrimp from a delivery truck.

Auto Theft

2100 block of Fairhaven Circle, NE – An auto theft was reported on Feb. 1.  A woman said her 2002 Dodge Caravan was stolen. She parked, and when she returned, she discovered broken glass on the street and the vehicle was gone.  She said there was a spare key for the vehicle in the glove box.  She had two Jambi drums, percussion instruments, lawn chairs, books and CDs that she sells. The vehicle was placed on the system as stolen.

1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An auto theft was reported on Feb. 6.  A woman said her 2007 BMW 550 was stolen from a hotel. She said she met a man, and they were drinking at a bar. She said they arrived at the hotel around midnight. When she woke up at noon, she discovered the vehicle was gone. There is neither a surveillance camera nor any witness at the location. The vehicle was placed as stolen on the system.

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – An auto theft was reported on Feb. 8.  While a woman was attempting to enter her vehicle that was parked in a lower level parking deck, she was approached by three of four men wearing ski masks. They all pointed a gun at her and took her keys, hopped in the vehicle, and sped off. Her iPhone was inside of the car.
