The Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce has named Springs Publishing LLC, the parent company that publishes Atlanta INtown and Reporter Newspapers, the 2013 Small Business of the Year. The award was announced at the chamber’s annual gala on March 1 at the Chastain Horse Park.

The award for Springs Publishing notes the company has grown from two community papers to five since its startup in 2007 by focusing on “hyperlocal” news and content.

The Reporter papers are published bi-weekly in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Buckhead and Brookhaven. Atlanta INtown is published monthly. Combined circulation for the five publications is 100,000 copies.

Collin Kelley is the executive editor of Atlanta Intown, Georgia Voice, and the Rough Draft newsletter. He has been a journalist for nearly four decades and is also an award-winning poet and novelist.
