The Atlanta Film Festival will begin March 28 with the feature film Joe, starring Nicolas Cage as an ex-con who meets a 15-year-old boy and is faced with the choice of redemption or ruin. This year’s festival, which continues through April 6, will show screenings at the Plaza Theatre, 7 Stages, The Goat Farm and Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
More than 20,000 are expected to view hundreds of new independent, international, animated, documentary and short films during the run of the festival.
Closing out this year’s fest is The Double, a stylish black comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Wallace Shawn and Mia Wasikowska. Eisenberg stars as Simon James, a timid man living an isolated existence in an indifferent world until his exact physical double and opposite personality arrives in the form of new co-worker, James Simon.
