The city of Brookhaven will hold two public forums on the proposed Parks and Recreation Master Plan April 14.

Scheduled for 6:30 p.m., the simultaneous forums will be held at Lupton Hall of Oglethorpe University and Briarwood Park Recreation Center. The forums will be an opportunity for the public to weigh in on the future development of the city’s parks.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan is one of several long-range planning efforts being conducted by the city of Brookhaven this year. The goal of the parks and recreation plan is to evaluate the condition of city parks and establish goals for future improvements. The city has hired a consultant that will work with staff and the public over approximately 18 weeks to create the plan, which will cost about $90,000, according to the city.
