With medical marijuana at the forefront of this year’s Georgia Legislative session and Colorado and Washington raking in the cash from the legalization of recreational weed, this year’s Great Atlanta Pot Festival will not only have a new urgency, but also a new location at Candler Park.
The 25th anniversary festival will be April 20 from noon to 10 p.m. with an afternoon of music, food, beer and information on legalization efforts in Georgia. Musical acts performing include Culture, Ghost Riders Car Club, Naked Truth and Swami Gone Bananas.
On May 3, the organizers of the festival are also encouraging Intowners to take part in the Global Cannabis March starting at 11:30 a.m. at Freedom Park. The march will stop at the Carter Center (to encourage former President Jimmy Carter to join them) and then on to Findley Plaza in Little Five Points with a gathering and guest speakers.
