voteToday, May 20, is the primary election to decide which Republican and which Democrats will square off in the general election in November. In cases where there are no opposing party challengers, the race will be decided this month.

There are a number of crowded races this year, including newly-formed Fulton County Commission Dist. 3, which has four Republican candidates: Lee Morris, Alexander Palacios, Cory Ruth and Bernie Tokarz. There is no Democratic challenger.

For Fulton County Commission Dist. 5 seat, there are five Democrats vying for the seat: Marvin S. Arrington, Jr., Dell Byrd. Johnnie Gordon, Brenda J. Muhammad and Kwame Thompson.

The U.S. Senate Seat has seven Republicans and four Democrats in the mix, which will probably lead to a runoff in July. Similarly, the race for State School Superintendent is overflowing with nine Republicans and six Democrats.
