The Phillip Rush Center became a beautiful oasis on a rainy day during the the 18th annual Garden Party on May 18, 2014. Dozens and dozens of women and several men packed the Rush Center to celebrate some local healthcare heroes as well. Receiving the agency’s first Legacy Awards were Dorothy Gallaway and Dr. Kimball Johnson.
Jeff Graham, executive director of Georgia Equality, received the Healing Angel Award for his work with statewide organizations working to ensure all residents receive access to healthcare.

The young musicians of Sutton Middle School in Buckhead basked in the spotlight at Chastain Amphitheatre during their annual Sutton Showcase talent show over the Easter holiday. The event was sponsored by UTA Tennis at Chastain Park and featured 23 acts, including Mohammed Anwar.

After a bruising 1-12 season last year, the Sandy Springs Charter Middle School Spartans bounced back with an 8-5 record, just one win short of a championship. Wind power Vajraang Kamat, a seventh grader at Sutton Middle School, was one of 34 students who placed first in the 2011 Georgia State Science Fair. More than 500 projects were presented at the state level by middle school students from all over Georgia. The title of his project was “Gone With the Wind.”
The Ladies of the Lake Garden Club hosted their annual Garden Party on May 1, featuring a silent auction, cocktail buffet, live music and May Day hat competition, raising funds to help maintain the Peachtree Heights East neighborhood’s duck pond parks.
